eMinistries

The mission and mandate of the Electronic Ministries Committee (eMinistries for short) is to supervise and coordinate the use of technology in the church. That doesn't mean that we do all the electronic work. Instead, we help to foster and guide anyone in the church who has a technology-related idea and wants to make it happen. And we do help out in practical ways when that's needed. Current eMinistry-supervised projects include:
-
Sermon CD's - Each week after the service, keep an eye out for somebody running around giving out CD's. We record each week's sermon, and you can take a CD for free. In fact we encourage it. Want to give them to others? That's great too - take several!
-
Sermons Online - Want to listen to a sermon, but don't have a CD handy? They're online, too, in MP3 format. You can stream them from the website, or download them. Put them on you iPod, even, and take your exercise to a higher level.
-
Church Audio/Visual - The A/V Ministry group is responsible for setting up and taking down the sound system, projector system, and all the things that go along with them each Sunday. They also handle earpieces to allow the hearing-impaired to also enjoy the service. Their work makes it possible to conduct a modern service in a beautiful historic building.
-
www.vbchurch.org - This site is an information hub for those both inside and outside the church, and it's one of the ways we reach out to the community. Building a good site, and keeping it up to date, are a team effort, which eMinistries helps to coordinate.
eMinistries currently has three members: Ray Malone (chairman), Nathan Allen, and Sharon Houston. If you have an idea, or would like to help out with an existing ministry, please get a hold of them on Sunday morning and let them know.
